About Ancient Corinth

Ancient Corinth controlled the narrow isthmus connecting the Peloponnese to mainland Greece. This location made it one of the wealthiest cities in antiquity. Today, the site features a mix of archaic Greek ruins and extensive Roman civil buildings.

Most visitors start at Central Ruins. The 6th-century BC Temple of Apollo stands out with its seven monolithic Doric columns. Nearby, the Roman Forum contains the foundations of shops and the Bema.

Read Transport from Athens to compare transport options. If you drive, you can also hike the nearby Acrocorinth Fortress fortress for free.

This worked really well. Downloaded everything before leaving the hotel and had no issues inside the site. The audio isn’t too long, which we appreciated in the heat.

Glad I selected this tour as getting to Corinth from Athens would have been challenging due to traffic and the coach certainly got there more quickly. The tour itself was very good, great guide and lots of information about the sites. Ancient Corinth has significant history as well as being a significant christian site.

Corinth and the canal were both amazing. It was a VERY nice small bus, comfortable and cool. Vickie, our guide knew just the right balance of sharing details and giving us time for photos. She knew all the Bible details about the Apostle Paul as well as the historical Greek information about Corinth. We loved it.
